The large family of helix couplings

Where maximum precision is required in extremely miniaturised applications, abp has a large selection of all-metal spiral couplings in its range. This allows you to cover virtually any size down to the millimetre! And exactly the performance data you need.

The torsionally rigid, flexurally flexible shaft connections are made from one piece and are used in measuring devices for displacement and angle measurements, as well as in drive systems as a connecting element. They are also characterised by high temperature resistance, have a shock and vibration-damping effect and optimally compensate for misalignment.

The smallest of our spiral couplings, the WKAS 6508, has an outer diameter of just 6.5 mm with an overall length of 8 mm. The largest, with an outer diameter of 30 mm, is manufactured in a multi-coil design for greater flexibility. It is suitable for heavy-duty encoders, servo and stepper motors and drives in mechanical and plant engineering as well as in automation technology. These spiral couplings are particularly good at cushioning "chattering" movements and "micro-impacts", such as those that occur in stepper motors.
